Gutsy
Knowing
Why ‘Gutsy Knowing’?
Well, gutsy means determined, bold, courageous.
We might use the term to describe someone who is brave and repeatedly acts according to their values.
I help people make gutsy decisions.

About Me
I support people to find their Gutsy Knowing.
Josephine Knowles has 30 years of charity sector experience, mainly in the Violence Against Women and Girls/VAWG sector.
As a Co-Director and Co-Founder of a charity (supporting women facing sexual exploitation), I have experience in supporting people to discover their “gutsy knowing”.
Any change we make has to be good for service users. Too often, we think we know best.
The work outlined here is what I found THE most useful or work I wish I had access to when I co lead a charity.
'My team would joke and say ‘WWJD’? or 'What Would Josephine Do?' The phrase became linked with boundaries/ saying ‘no’ more, not rescuing and being clearer about what you need.'

“Working with Josephine was a transformative experience, and I have already recommended her to both colleagues and friends. I began sessions with Josephine when I was very stuck, having spent over a year looking for work to no avail, and from our first meeting she created a space that felt both safe and empowering. Through her thoughtful, often challenging questions and prompts, I was able to uncover the deeper reasons behind why I felt frozen on my career path, and collaborating with her allowed me to finally gain clarity and take action.
Josephine’s questions and insights helped me see myself more clearly and recognise the strengths and values I bring into the workplace.
Throughout our six sessions, we explored everything from long-term purpose to setting boundaries, how to purposefully manage energy, and I’m confident that our work together was the catalyst to big, positive transitions in my mindset and career. Through our work, Josephine gave me the tools to turn insight into action, and supported me as I took the biggest steps in my career to date.
More than anything, Josephine gave me the gift of genuinely believing in me. That belief gave me the confidence to define my worth, articulate what I offer, and move forward with purpose. I’m so grateful for the work we did together and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone.” Z Savino (shared with permission)
